A Mid-19th Century English Oil on Canvas Landscape entitled Day on Loch Torridon depicting a sportsman in full Scottish regalia along with his two daughters and surrounded by their dogs and other animals, signed in the lower right hand corner “TW 1849” and most likely the work of Thomas Woodward, (1801-1852), cf. Horses Surprised by Wolves 1842, Tate Gallery London. Woodward was employed as an animal painter to Queen Victoria but also produced landscapes and historical subjects
